Why Update Optimizely Certification Exams?

Optimizely is making updates to the current versions of the certification exams to make sure that each covers the necessary knowledge required to be successful in professional roles. The new exams have updated content across all domains and new topics aligned with each product.

The updated exams ensure that the scores a candidate receives validate the skills and knowledge that are required for them to be successful using Optimizely products.

How Do I Prepare?

You are encouraged to review the beta exam guides for each of the new Optimizely Certifications.

These guides include information about who should take the exam, the exam content areas, the number of questions and the detailed knowledge areas that will be covered.

We also offer Q&A sessions with live trainers for those of you who have subject matter experience and would like the opportunity to speak to an expert trainer before taking the beta exam. You are strongly encouraged to post any questions to your trainer ahead of the Q&A session, and they will make sure everyone gets the most out of the sessions.

Beta Exam Results

Test takers will not receive a pass or fail notification on the testing screen upon completion of the exam.

Detailed exam results will be available by the beginning of January 2023 after Optimizely has ensured that the questions on the exams are fair to all candidates.

Frequently asked questions

Refer to this FAQ for any question related to the beta certification tests. If you can't find the information needed, don't hesitate to contact education@optimizely.com.

Optimizely works hard to make sure that each exam is technically accurate and relevant to current products using beta exams. Beta exams allow Optimizely to evaluate item performance before items are used on a live exam where they may impact a candidates score. Exams may go through the beta exam process when a new exam is developed or when major changes are made to the content areas on an existing test.

Optimizely certifications are refreshed on an ongoing basis so our exams measure the most up to date and relevant information for our professionals.

Candidates qualified to take the beta exams should be experienced in their job roles and have access to Optimizely resources such as documentation guides, online resources including blogs and training.

A major benefit of participating in the beta exam window is that these exams are offered at a 50% discount from the standard exam pricing. Additionally. candidates who participate in a beta exam have the opportunity to take the newest exams first.

Optimizely needs approximately 200 beta test-takers to ensure a valid, reliable evaluation of the skills and knowledge measured on each exam. Optimizely will post announcements for upcoming beta exams so candidates have the opportunity to prepare and participate in these evens.

Candidates who participate in a beta exam generally receive their scores 30 - 60 days after the end of the beta administration testing period.

Scores receieved from a beta exam window are considered valid scores and are equivalent to scores that candidates receive during a regular administration window.

Candidates who pass an Optimizely beta exam will be awarded certification for the respective content area once scores are released. The certification will be valid for 2 years from the day scores are released.

Candidates who participate in the beta exam but who do not pass the exam can retake the exam once the standard exam is released.

The purpose of a beta exam is to capture test candidates’ initial responses to test questions. Therefore, any respective beta exam can be taken only once.

Exam details for each beta exam are located on Optimizely’s exam information & preperation page.

Although Optimizely’s goal is to provide the majority of training materials and instructor led sessions before launching a beta exam, it’s not always possible.
